The Volunteer State
The Tennessee state flag serves as the inspiration behind the 2024 edition Tennessee football’s Smokey Grey series uniform, “The Volunteer State.”
The three white stars that comprise the logo represent the three grand divisions of Tennessee: West, Middle and East. The white circle bounds them together in one—an indissoluble trinity.
The helmets feature the familiar orange Power T and a mountain design in shades of grey that pay tribute to Tennessee’s famous Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Similar to the side of the pants, the center helmet stripe was orange and adjoined with the Tennessee state flag white stripe.
